Brier Island Artist Residency — June 2025
Vanessa is excited about attending her first artist residency! In June, she will be spending 2 weeks on Nova Scotia’s lovely Brier Island, at the Hammar & Sky Artist Residency, where she’ll have access to a large printing press. She is planning a large (2’ x2’ !!) linocut to take advantage of the press.
Spring Art Show
Vanessa’s print My Grandmother’s Snowdrops will be featured in Regeneratio, a community art show and sale to celebrate spring, at the Chester Art Centre from April 9-18, 2025. More details here:

Vanessa is collaborating with writer & botanist Katherine Barrett on Wild Talk, a new column in The Lunenburg Barnacle. Each month, Katherine ‘interviews’ a local plant while Vanessa captures their portrait. You can learn more about The Barnacle and Wild Talk here:
Art Show & Sale 2024
Vanessa’s original linocuts — new works and old favourites — will be part of an upcoming show Places I Have Felt at Home at the Lunenburg Art Gallery, November 22-24. There will be paintings and fibre arts by local artists Liz Hammond and Erika Nicholson. Come on by and say hi and tell us where you feel at home!

Vanessa’s notecards can be found at the lovely Chicory Blue General Store in Blockhouse, Nova Scotia year-round. But on June 11th, 2023 she will be there with her original prints. One stop for brunch, plant sale, and original linocuts!

Vanessa has joined the Mahone Bay Printmakers. She has been creating some larger prints using the studio’s printing press. Her original linocuts are for sale at both the Lunenburg Art Gallery and at Jenny Jib in Lunenburg.

Artists for Ukraine
In March 2022 Vanessa’s linocut Sunflowers was offered to Artists for Ukraine — an art sale for the people of Ukraine. $7500 was raised by this collective and was donated to the Red Cross to support the needs of people who have been affected by the conflict.
